Going Fat2Lean - Teaching, Training, Coaching and Mentoring Low Glycemic Weight Loss

Before we get started let’s agree on and make a couple of statements and assumptions here, right from the outset - eight to be exact.

1. Human beings, you and me, are biological organisms. Our bodies are made of cells, tissues, organs and systems all linked in a complex chemistry.

2. We are certain that you, like us before taking this class, have not been trained in how the body turns nutrition into fuel nor what it does to food to store it as fat for later use.

3. Simply stated we eat with little consideration – mindlessly - as to how our biological bodies operate. One rarely thinks - Will this morsel of food take me closer to my weight goal or move me further away?

4. We each get one body in this life time. (If you know differently, we need to talk.) Otherwise, you’ll have to work with the one you’ve got AND they are ALL workable.

5. You must agree that Prevention and Maintenance Healthcare is a far better course of action than is reactive treatment healthcare. (We won’t tell the drug companies, if you don’t.)

6. You have tried other diet programs with varying degrees of failure.

7. You now have a burning desire to lose weight and inches as simply as possible.

8. You are here with an open mind to learn what’s possible.

Who and Why?

The WHealthSource promotes skills training for success in two specific arenas: health awareness and wellness, through weight management classes; and personal development and skills training through network marketing.

We started eating a low glycemic diet for the very same reason you are here reading this Blog. We knew we had to do something if we wanted to lose weight and remain fit as we aged. We didn’t want to become a disease statistic, saw the need and we signed up for a class. We got very, very lucky it was the right one, the one that worked for us and could work for everyone!

We have been through the low glycemic weight management class and have had the personal experience and the benefits of not only burning off fat, inches and pounds but the beneficial side effects of an improved quality of life, increased energy and vitality, even reduced aches and pains. We did not do this alone; we had a dedicated diet support group and buddy system to help make it work.

Driven to share the advantage of eating and supplementing in a way that supports the optimal function of our bodies, we trained and became Weight Management Advisor, WMA, through Proevity. We continue to train and study weight loss trends and techniques.

Going Fat2Lean - A Paradigm Shift!

The Going FAT2Lean Weight Management Program primarily teaches a Paradigm Shift. A paradigm shift is a fundamental change in an approach to or an assumption of something. For instance, we’ve all heard that before Christopher Columbus set sail people thought that the earth was flat. If you sailed your boat beyond the horizon and you would fall off. Poof! That is why ships never lost sight of the shoreline. We also humbly thought that the earth was the center of the universe that the sun and the stars revolved around us. Today we know that the earth is round and it revolves around the sun and is very, very far from the center of the universe.

It is the same with weight management and eating. We strongly assert that most are stuck in a certain fixed paradigm about food and nutrition. Until you take responsibility, see it from a new perspective and change your fundamental approach or assumption about what you eat you are guaranteed more of the same – being overweight and facing needless and avoidable health challenges.

Consider that Mother Nature did not design our bodies to eat and digest today’s highly processed chemically altered foods. As hunter gatherers we ate fresh, raw and natural. We grazed eating smaller portions in shorter intervals. And, we were much more active. Our days were used primarily to hunt for food. Today, the hunt has been reduced to deciding which drive through to use. Food is abundant and we’re starving our bodies.

Let us share with you what we mean.

A woman attended her company convention where she did a DEXA scan for bone density. As she was getting the results of the test the technician told her that the test revealed that she was 1/3 body fat. That unfortunately is not unheard of today. But, get this, at 5’4” and 105 pounds she was carrying 35 pounds of fat. Let that sink in for a moment. 5’4”, 105 pounds and 1/3 fat!
How did that happen? This is what she ate: a cup of coffee in the morning and her first meal at dinner consisting of a salad. She has so stressed her body that is turned salad fixings into fat to store. Her body was doing what nature designed it to do when there is little or no nutrition being taken in.

Shocked, she got herself back to 3 healthy meals a day and began to exercise with a buddy. She was doing well, reduced the stress on her body and was really happy that she had lost 2 dress sizes. Her friend urged her to jump on the scale to see how she was doing and, with reluctance, she did.

To her surprise and amazement she had put ON 25 pounds, now weighing in at 130 pounds. And, she still lost the 2 dress sizes. Let us REPEAT that, so your brain doesn’t go haywire and there is no room for question. She put ON 25 pounds and LOST 2 dress sizes! That blows the whole paradigm. She had converted her fat to lean ratio.

Going Fat2Lean - Going, Going, Gone!

There are just 5 steps in this process and only 7 low glycemic rules to follow. Simple!

In this program you will learn how to eat, what to eat and how to be a critical thinker. And, it is something that you will carry with you and use for the rest of your life. You will learn how to eat for your specific genetic make up. No one program fits everybody all the time.

How and what we eat is an old comfortable and unconscious habit. We recommend firstly recognizing the old habit. Then, have you make a commitment to break old eating habits and installing new habits that work for your weight management and optimal health. We will support you to take the same baby steps we took to changing old habits.

We support and work with each participant individually to progress through the resistance and fear of changing old habits. It’s natural for human beings to resist the things they know would be best for them. Just ask any smoker. We have already been through this and can support your commitment to a low glycemic diet plan.

Within the program you will learn to increase daily activity. Notice we did not say you have to get a trainer and join a gym. You are welcome to if you want to but, it’s not a requirement.

Together we will handle the stress, the demands and the temptations on your commitment to a new leaner you. We will support you through every challenge, every crossroad and face the test of holidays, celebrations, of even eating in a restaurant together. We’ll work with you to build and maintain your new healthy eating habit through simple changes over the 8 weeks.

Family and friends have challenged you in the past and they will challenge and question your new eating habits again. They’re going to want you to eat the same poorly selected stuff they are eating. We have been there with family and friends and can support your efforts to healthy weight loss.

We will discuss the proper proportions of protein to carbohydrates to fats for your genetic disposition. You will learn about the handy universal portion control tool that you’re never without.

It has been shown that by reducing your body fat and increasing your lean mass that you will reduce YOUR risk of the effects of some illnesses like:

Heart disease
Cancer Obesity
Diabetes
Osteoporosis
Sleep disorders
High blood pressure

And, other problems associated with poor eating habits.

Going Fat2Lean - The 8 Week Program

Basic course logistics:

Class is conducted via conference call – (long distance rates may apply) once a week, for one (1) hour.

Class times are primarily in the evening hours.

We cover various topics each week continuously focusing on the basics of the program.

You will have a buddy to be in touch with weekly for additional support.

Each week you will get a lesson and homework via email.

Minimal equipment is needed. You will need a cloth tape measure, a pedometer and the palm of your hand.
